Ladies’ Retreat is always a life-changing weekend for those privileged to attend. A special Retreat designed to minister to and train our ladies to be better wives, better mothers, and better daughters of their Heavenly Father, each years’ Retreat is unique and reaches unexpected corners of their hearts and lives.

Remembering Ladies’ Retreat 2016

What a special weekend the Lord blessed us with! There were a total of 42 ladies who gathered at WorldSong Camp in Cook Springs, Alabama, from the states of Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee, January 29-31, 2016. We were truly blessed to have such amazing support from so many locations along with our own faithful ladies. Marcia Brooks was our guest speaker this year and she truly blessed our souls. Classes were taught by Kimmi Keel and Amy Anders (who also led us in singing) and devotions were presented by Vicki Smith–all of which were a tremendous blessing. Instruction and encouragement was given in so many ways to accomplish our theme, “To Be Like Jesus.” There was a freedom in worship throughout the weekend and a unity and fellowship that seemed unique even to those who are familiar with such things in The Church of God! Along with the many spiritual blessings, there seemed to be more fun and laughter than even we are accustomed to! We were blessed to have some visitors join us, three of whom prayed through to salvation and one who claimed deliverance from a severe addiction. Praise the Lord for all of His wondrous works! We thank the Lord for new friends gained, wonderful memories made, and the opportunity to draw closer to the Lord and to one another. Special thanks to all those who prayed, fasted, and labored to find the favor of God and make this Retreat all that it was–especially our director, Kimmi Keel.

Remembering Ladies’ Retreat 2017

Ladies’ Retreat this year was held January 27th–29th at WorldSong Campground. Our guest speaker was Janet Talley of Tennessee. She spoke on the theme of “Think on These Things,” taken from Phillipians 4:8, which reads: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”  We had a total of 27 ladies attend the Retreat and it’s my prayer that each one was blessed and changed by this year’s Retreat. The Retreaters were encouraged to change their mindset. Our class reminded us that when it seems everything is falling apart, we have to purpose our mind to be set on the Lord. Satan is a real enemy that is trying to squeeze out the breath of God in our lives and his main fighting grounds are our own minds. We must keep our thoughts on God’s word, His voice, and His guidance in our life. In a world that is full of negative and ungodly things, we can think on the good things of God. During this Retreat, I was reminded time and time again how good God has been to me. God is ever faithful. Ladies’ Retreat always consists of laughs, fun, fellowship, and food and I am so blessed to be a part of it.
